Nothing like binge-reading four books in a series (in two days!). I hate paying $5 an ebook, but made an exception as each novel are around 300+ pages each, so the reader gets great value for the money (unlike so many 200 page books of the same or higher price). Since I read these books back-to-back, each review for books 3-5 will be the same. Breene gives readers excellent plot advancement through each book, as well as character development for the main protagonists, Shanti and Cayan, and many beloved secondary characters. It would be easy for an author to lose forward momentum and hit storyline stagnation when it spans so many pages, but so far, the writer has plotted her books wisely, so the reader is always at the edge of his/her seat and the twists unfold with suspenseful regularity. I personally have started to skim some portions of the fight/war scenes, as I am losing my interest in so much combat choreography detail; but attention to detail is one of the strong points of Breene's storytelling, so I admit I read more than I pass over. Through each of the stories, the author has built the suspense for the main thread of the plot, yet each book gives a satisfying conclusion to the focus of each book-- well done.

Again, a nail biting non-stop action story filled with interesting characters, funny moments, witty dialogue and extremely detailed descriptive action scenes. Reading some events from another character’s perspective and dealing with their emotions, uncertainly and bravery pulled me in further and made me feel part of the Chosen’s army. I just loved the interactions between thedifferent characters and the romance that blossomed between Santi and Cayan. Even if it feels the odds are against them as the Graygual they encounter is getting better and more difficult to defeat, there is still hope …I had one eye on the location indicator on my kindle device and was constantly thinking “No, no! It can’t be, it’s too soon!” as I move closer to the end of the book. Obviously, I cannot wait for the next installment.In parting, herewith a motivational quote from the book (and Captain): “Overcoming fear is the best way to gain confidence. The first half of the book is devoted to going like 10 miles to the mud people village and fighting 2 people. The characters besides the main girl haven't changed or grown. It didn't make since why they kept the dangerous guy around who can block powers. The author just had him be recaptured in the end. But the most annoying was all of the rebel prostitutes there is no reason for them and they receive no development and every scene with them is crude and unnecessary. Also this book is basically a rehash of the fourth book only we still don't know anything real about the main bad guy and all of the other bad guys are generic red shirts.

Ha gotcha didn't headline my review of the best one yet, even though we know it was, Shanti, Cayan, Outnumbered, overwhelmed, their most dangerous weapons not as strong, they need to get to each other, do they? The passion and power in this one soars to towering heights, The battle sequences are so powerful they speak to me like a lover does, it's like an AAR, I was moved, I couldn't put this one down, this review is shorter than most of mine, I just have to start overtaken NOW than you for such writing, KF Breene is at the top of her game on this one, if you're a fan you've gotta read this one today! If you're not than try out Chosen you're guaranteed to become one...

The opening scene of Siege draws the reader immediately into the book, in typical action-packed K.F Breene fashion. With a glimpse of Shanti’s past, this imaginatively built world grows a bit more in your minds eye – but it doesn’t stop there! The Chosen learn that they must take matters into their own hands, and leave home yet again to fight, to protect, and to fulfill their destiny. The juxtaposition between Cayan’s people and the Shadows is downright hilarious, and adds a wonderful depth to the vast list of characters. This book was a thrilling, action packed adventure, and I can’t wait to read Overtaken, the final book in this series!

Siege picks up where Invasion left off. I love the way the characters come together to conquer an insurmountable task. Of course I have my favorite characters, and it was great to see them step up to the plate. The book was great, and fit the series well. I can't wait for the next one!

I love the Warrior Chronicles series and number 5, Seige, doesn't let you down. The story is full of action and very hard to put down. I finished it in 2 days and am anticipating the next novel #6. There is a woman as the main character who is smart, funny, strong, empathic, lovable and has some awesome skills and doesn't hesitate to achieve her destiny. Does she question herself and her role, of course, who doesn't, but still performs to lead her people to freedom! This is not a stand alone book and should be read in the series from the beginning. A series that is full of action and hard to put down, leaving you reaching for the next book in the series.

In this firth book of the Warrior Chronicles series we come to find that Xandre has a few more tricks up his sleeve, when Shanti and Cayan find a small army outside the walls, and didn’t feel them there. Now to decide to see what the enemy is going to do or attack them first. And what to do next. The world seems to be waiting on the wanderer and Cayan feels he just might be holding Shanti back. This is an awesome story to an awesome series. Well written and very entertaining as well as enthralling to read. I am so looking forward to reading the next book. Once I start reading I can’t put the book down until I finish reading it.
