What sets this book apart is the numerous - and I do mean numerous - examples from actual "real life" project estimates. There are page after page of detailed examples that tend to be tough to find. It doesn't stop there, the author provides a basic definition and overview of both the financial and time considerations without being either redundant or overly simplistic. Instead, this is an excellent overview with clear, concise and numerous example every step of the way. The focus is entirely on major projects such as roads, tunnels etc..

This hardcover book provides good information on a unique and somewhat obscure field - heavy construction estimating. Overall, the book is written in simple language and easy to understand. The only bad part is that the units are European (metric and Euros). Additionally, a few of the terms used in the book are more "European" but are easy enough to understand.

This is basically a college type textbook. Goes into lots of detail into the subject area. Does a good job of covering things. Lots of details. Lots of figures and numbers to look at v

I found this book helpful to have as a reference for work (Construction Super for General Contractor). It gives many detailed examples and descriptions on estimating. The values are in European currency and metric system, however for me that wasn't an issue as I thought the value of the book was in the content of the examples and descriptions.
