I require the companion theory book for every student. Alfred's is the best overall system for my students. The lessons are progressive and interesting. They pair perfectly together with three lesson book to reinforce what is being learned. I highly recommend Alfred's system for all young students of piano. I've been teaching for years and each of my students use the theory book with the lesson book. From 6 years to 6th grade, all my students advance at their pace using Alfred's.Local music stores have stopped carrying books in stores. I can only find them online.

Well, once you reach level D it says it all: We like Alfed's piano class books. They are easy, non pushy, well written piano books. They build up and each step gets more difficult. We also bought the CD to help hearing what the piece should sound like when played. My 9-year old was not ever really frustrated with this easy approach. Many familiar songs as well in the level C books.

Piano teacher recommended. A+

Can't go wrong with Alfred books. I'm a piano teacher for young students and these books are perfect. I love the combo of a lesson and theory book. These books are wonderful for students under the age of 8. I like the Level 1A and 1B books for older children.

Book 3!! Best piano teaching book ever!

As a piano teacher, I've been using this Alfred curriculum for years and love it. I combine it with the Lesson and Solo books. Each lesson offers a new challenge for the student, along with fun and interesting music.
