I'm not sure if this was part of a bad run or if this one is a fake. The first copy of this atlas I received had poor quality printing. The ink was faded and the lines were blurry. The small font is hard to read because of the faded ink and blurry print. I sent the first one back and asked for a replacement. The replacement I received also had faded ink and blurry lines/font. I kept the replacement because I need an atlas for Louisiana, but it's a very disappointing. The Arkansas atlas has beautiful, crisp printing and easy to read font, soI'm not sure why the Louisiana one doesn't.

Great atlas to just study and look at or keep in the car. Really helps you to familiarize yourself with a new parish or area of the state before travelling there, or finding a way to get back onto a major hwy/interstate if lost. Not a great topographical map, but you could find a few bodies of water and some forests through here. For me it was useful to plan some in state road trips, hitting up some interesting towns and cities all along the way. Makes it really easy to go through the books and find everything across the state by the way its laid out in a gridded fashion. Also the nicest atlas and map I've been able to find easily, so kudos for that even if it isn't perfect.

This seems to be a reprint rather than a revision. It is not bad. It does not have the egregious errors of the most recent Roads of Louisiana, Nor does it have the legibility problems of that atlas. But it is certainly not current, even as of its publication date. For example, there are numerous changes such as name changes of WMAs and new state parks, already listed in the free official state highway map of 2005 which were not incorporated in this edition of the atlas. That is inexcusable. I certainly hope that a new and truly revised and more or less up-to-date edition will be printed. I really like to use printed atlases.But if DeLorme and its competitors don't do a better job, they will be completely replaced by electronic systems, as out of date as slide rules.

Great map! Tons of detail and it even covers the dirt hunting lease roads by my house. The only thing is i wish it was smaller for my motorcycle. But then I would be sacrificing the details in the map. I haven't had the chance to really dig in and use it a ton, but I've used it enough to say that it is a very good investment. The best thing that I do is make copies of a page and put it in front of me on the bike and take off. Great detail, and it doesn't miss a single road. The guide in the front for the campgrounds is extremely helpful and informative. The other feature I like is the powerlines map. This makes for some good off roading!

good clear maps and what i expect from Delorme. I live in TX but only 25 minutes roughly from LA border. Up for some exploring soon with this as my guide

I love going the back roads and being off the interstates etc. so that was why I bought the Louisiana Atlas & Gazetteer. It helped a lot in planning a trip to Lake Charles, Louisiana as my friend and I didn't want to go on I-10. I'm sure it will come in handy on many other occasions.
